Turn Up The Volume
Wish are excited to announce our live music, poetry and comedy event, Turn Up The Volume, that will launch our Women’s Mental Health Network (WMHN).
Happening on Friday 8th June 2018 in Kennedy Hall in Cecil Sharp House in Camden, Turn Up The Volume will be a display of brilliant female voices who all want to see a change in the mental health system.
Our wonderful compere for the night is award-winning presenter and radio host Remel London, with performers including comedian Jessie Cave, musicians Misha B and Malika, poet Charly Cox, comedians Chloe Green and Jodie Mitchell from The LOL Word, and Momtaza Mehri, who was recently announced as the Young People’s Poet Laureate for London.
This night is raising money for our Women’s Mental Health Network, which will work to improve the current mental health system and criminal justice system for women, including the community services these women use. The network’s aim is to tailor these services provided to be more gender-specific so that women within the system will be believed, respected and treated like human beings.
Turn Up The Volume is a celebratory night about women using their voices to champion mental health and spark conversation, and we’d love to see you there. Tickets are £21.50, which includes a welcome drink, and you can buy your tickets to the event from our venue’s website. You can also join our Facebook event to stay up-to-date with information about the night.
There are also some free tickets available for those on low income or benefits, and if you feel this applies to you, please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Doors open at 7pm with performances starting at 7.30pm.
